28 октября 201123 октября 2012321144A Russian SME from Obhninsk, Kaluga reg., developed a technology for production of wrought aluminium-based alloys that enable manufacturing metal components (casings, etc.) without welding, just by pressing the edges to each other. The authors seek partners for technical cooperation on the development of an industrial prototype.Available technologies for jointing metal materials (welding, first of all) are either energy consuming or not enough reliable. Many research teams and innovation companies are engaged in the development of new approaches to the manufacture of bodies of cars, aircrafts and other vehicle and technological systems.
The Russian company offers an original technology for obtaining wrought alloys based on Al / Al-Mg / Al-Zn-Cu, with a high content of reinforcing components: Zn (12-12,5%), Mg (> 10%). The new technology enables creating the systems that are nonequilibrium in regard to deformation. A unique feature of these systems is the ability of atomic (molecular) diffusion into other materials under mechanical impact. The technology allows introducing new more energy-efficient approaches in various sectors like machine-building, car manufacture, shipbuilding, aircraft building).
The innovation aspect is the technology for obtaining wrought aluminium-based alloys with a unique feature - ability of atomic (molecular) diffusion into other materials under mechanical impact.
The offered material-making technology makes the foundry technological process slightly more costly, but it allows obtaining materials with a new level of quality. Materials, produced under this technology, can be widely used as a new generation of construction materials: they are as strong as best steels, but 3 times less heavy; the rolled sheet <5 mm thick belongs to the 1st class of corrosion resistance.
