The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) announces the international "Green Talents" competition for young scientists. Talented young researchers from throughout the world will be given an opportunity to visit the leading environmental technology location Germany, establish new contacts, and build networks with outstanding institutions and companies.

Application deadline: 31 May, 2009

Application requirements:
• An above-average Master’s degree grade (or equivalent) or higher qualification in the field of environmental technology, as well as an excellent command of English
• Age: up to 35 years
• Non-German citizenship and residence outside of Germany

Please submit the following documents in English by e-mail in the form of a PDF document:
• Résumé
• Letter of recommendation or expert opinion focusing on your career as a scientist and activities up until now
• Exposé explaining your motives for participation (two pages max.):
  - Why do you want to become more familiar with Germany as a key environmental technology location?   - What do you expect to gain from this experience for your future scientific career?  - Which experts would you like to meet in Germany, and why?
  - Please explain your specific interest in the field of environmental technologies and demonstrate your interdisciplinary interest.

The selection will be based on the scientific profile of the applicants in the field of environmental technologies and their specific interest in cooperating with German partners. The winners of the competition will participate in a one-week international science forum in late summer 2009, where they will also act as representatives of the environmental research carried out in their respective home countries.
