Following the recommendations of the European Commission in its Communication on Europe 2020 Flagship Initiative: INNOVATION UNION, Technology Transfer professionals will meet in Lisbon to debate on how to improve the Technology Transfer Process and its benefits for the society.

ProTon Europe and its national partner associations of TTOs will champion the necessity of having :
- certified top level human resources through accredited training providers,
- dedicated budget to the Technolgogy Transfer process (market studies, proof of concept funds, ..),
- community tools for the protection of IPR and value,
- community support to the mobility of TTO professionals in Europe,
- a wider collaboration between Public Research providers and Industry for a better valorization of the research results.

They will emphasise that the Innovation process is not only about doing research, but also looking for the best valorization of the research's results.
