On 19-20 May 2011 the workshop “Design of semiconductor components and electronic based miniaturised systems: European and Russian R&D cooperation” took place in Ulyanovsk State Technical University (UlSTU). The workshop was organized under the FP7 project SEMIDEC (Stimulating Semiconductor Design Cooperation between Europe and Russia”) by the Russian Technology Transfer Network (RTTN) with assistance from the EU partners and UlSTU. The workshop was included in the list of events of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), a representative from the EEN partner from London (UK) – Greater London Enterprise participated in the workhop.
The workshop was aimed on:
awareness raising of opportunities for cooperative research in semiconductor design under the FP7 ICT Work Programme. It included overview presentation on of the FP7 ICT semiconductor design related priorities and discussion of EU-RF cooperation priorities in semiconductor design sphere.
networking between Russian and European semiconductor design experts and organizations. It included presentations of almost all participants (30 participant from Russia and 8 participants from the EU) on their R&D competences and ideas for joint projects as well as discussions of opportunities for collaboration with potential partners.
The workshop also included special training (for Russian participants) on how to participate in the FP7. Most of participants reported their high satisfaction and expressed interest to visit such events in future.
